Our two tournament umpires Ashlee Numa Hamilton City and Wids Wilson Eastern Waikato were a credit to the Zone’s Umpire Performance program, displaying skill and professionalism both on and off court for the duration of the Champs.
This culminated in Wids Wilson being appointed to officiate the Final.
Pam Clayton, Convenor of the NNZ Umpire Selectors, had a very busy week as part of the umpires’ support team, a role she thoroughly enjoys. NZSS is a pathway to the high performance events for umpires so it also allows umpire coaches the opportunity to work with umpire coaches from other zones and to see the growth in their umpires and those from across the country.
