Netball New Zealand and the country’s four Netball Zone chief executives have announced a change to the Netball Centre affiliation fees for 2020.
The NNZ Umpire Development Framework is designed to develop umpires at all levels of the game; from grassroots to elite.
There are many opportunities to become involved as an umpire in Netball, with clear pathways and support structures available for those aspiring to officiate at the highest level.

[1] Screening will take place over one or more games.
[2] If an assessment or screening is being conducted over two consecutive games, there should be no more than 15 minutes between games.
[3] NNZ will work with Zones to identify a pool of assessors to screen and assess Umpires for their NZ B Award.
[4] It is recommended that an umpire not be screened or assessed for their NZ A Award by their appointed coach.
Throughout your umpiring journey – grassroots to elite – there will be people along the way to help you develop, improve and provide feedback and mentoring.
Umpire Coaches and Assessors are a vital tool for umpires at all levels and are available to assist at Centre, Zone, National and International levels.

Umpiring is very rewarding and is a great way to contribute to your community, give back to the game, and to meet and connect with others involved in the sport we love. Community umpires are essential to the enjoyment and delivery of netball at your local centre.
Your first step on your umpiring journey is to complete the Netball New Zealand Learning to Umpire Module. You can find the module here Sports Tutor - Logon Page. Here are the instructions for signing up to Sports Tutor and to find the module.
Once you have completed your module you can work towards your Introductory or Centre Award. You will do this with help of umpire coaches at your local centre. Please find the contacts for each Centre here
