The Mainland Tactix have continued their dream start to the season, beating the Northern Mystics 42-39 in Auckland.
A three-person panel, chaired by Auckland lawyer and experienced sports director Don Mackinnon, has commenced a review process to evaluate the Silver Ferns campaign for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
The opening round of the 2018 ANZ Premiership season ended with a bang as the Silvermoon Tactix came from behind to nab a 61 to 60 extra time victory over the Northern Stars.

2024 Zone Umpire Watchlist – Northern Zone Umpires
The Zone Umpire Watchlist is a group of umpires who have been identified as having the potential to be elite umpires in the future and are all at different stages of their development. The Northern Zone are pleased to have two umpires as part of this group. The NNZ Zone Watchlist umpires are an important part of delivering the ANZ Premiership and Synergy Hair Netball League reserving matches in the SHNL and standing by in case they need to be called up. Congratulations to Kian Manilal and Gemma Groenewald who have both been selected for the first time.

Today, the Minister for Greater Christchurch Regeneration, Dr Megan Woods, has announced the outcome of the Metro Sports Facility (MSF) review and has confirmed that the business case for the city’s new stadium will be fast-tracked.
Carolyn Young will step down from her role as CEO of Netball Central at the end of May, confident she is leaving the Zone in healthy shape.
Netball New Zealand - Zone Theory and NZ Theory Exams 2025
NNZ provides online learning and examination options as pre-requisites for Umpire Practical Awards. Candidates need to ensure they have access to a computer with a good internet connection.
Details for 2025 Netball NZ Zone Theory and NZ Theory Umpire exams are below. The 2025 umpire theory exams will be on the online on Sports Tutor. Details and instructions will be provided beforehand.

All exams will be conducted online, each exam costs $55. Payment details will be sent to the applicants to pay online after registrations have closed. If their Netball Centre is paying for them, this can be done in one payment directly to Netball New Zealand - details will be in the payment email.

- Registrations must be completed by the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Candidates must sit their exam without help from another person unless use of a reader-writer or other special conditions have been authorised.
