Entries for the New World Netball Volunteer Awards 2014 are now open. The National Awards recognise the tremendous efforts that our volunteers make on a daily basis, to keep Netball running every year. As in previous years, there are four categories and they are as follows:
We know that there are incredible volunteers in every Centre, so please think about who is in your Centre and nominate them for an award. A volunteer does not have to have been involved in Netball for a lifetime, they may have made a huge contribution over the last 12 months and that makes them equally worthy of nomination. Winners in each category (along with a friend) will be awarded with an all-expenses paid trip to Auckland, attend the match day hospitality and get a great seat for the Constellation Cup test match! All entries must be submitted to

Netball New Zealand is pleased to be recognising the very best of netball volunteers around the country, who live this game.
New World understands that without the hard work of hundreds of volunteers at Zones, Centres and Clubs, Netball in New Zealand would not be the success it is today. New World has again partnered with Netball New Zealand to celebrate the success of the most dedicated netball volunteers, by awarding them with National Honours.
As in past years, there are four award categories; Coach, Administrator, Official and Youth Volunteer (please see full descriptions on page 3).
Many individuals could qualify in more than one category; however the nomination of a person may be for only one category each year. It is acknowledged that many individuals’ efforts are the result of several years of commitment and involvement, so a nomination may recognise the individual’s total contribution to netball, over the last few years.
1. Read the nomination pack and consult with their centres to identify appropriate nominees - each Zone may complete this process as appropriate for their area.
2. Encourage nominees information to be entered online at the following link http://www.mynetball.co.nz/community-netball/volunteers/national-awards/online-nomination.html .
3. NNZ will send you all of the nominees in your Zone and you will select one from each category for NNZ.
The judging and notification timeline:
1. Judging of the categories will take place before 30th September 2015, and contact made with the winners and their Zones soon after.
2. Presentations to the winners of each category will take place at a Netball New Zealand Event.
3. Winners will travel and be accommodated with a guest to the Netball New Zealand Event in Auckland, compliments of New World.
In all categories, the person nominated must be a “volunteer” – defined as someone who does not derive a significant source of income from the role that they fulfil. They may receive honorarium or expenses in completing the role that they are nominated for.
