NetballSmart, Netball New Zealand’s injury prevention programme is in a superb growth phase in 2018.
With a funding boost received from programme supporter ACC, NetballSmart is evolving into a multifaceted, Zone based injury prevention strategy. The aim of the NetballSmart Program is to integrate injury prevention practices into the whole of Netball, decrease injuries, upskill coaches, grow the capacity of the athletes, and keep athletes in the game. Here in Central, NetballSmart awareness is growing and many of our Centres are working through the process of booking workshops and confirming dates, for coaches, umpires, players and parents to come along and find out what the program is all about.
The NetballSmart dynamic warm up is the starting point for many of our interventions and is based on the success of the FIFA 11+ (footballs equivalent) which has been shown to reduce injuries by as much as 40%.
Our aim is to engage with as much of the netball community as possible and to help all involved become NetballSmart. If you would like to register for an upcoming workshop then please click here
